Performance Considerations

Please provide evidence for how you have considered or done the following

1. Planned, designed and implemented valuable learning experiences using a variety of technology tools and practices

-- In my CLS I used a tech app that was introduced to me via a classmate, NearPod. I used NearPod as a review tool for the students on day 3. I needed an assessment of their knowledge individually, so this was useful because each student could work on the assignment at their own pace and respond in drawings and words to explain themselves. I also have used Google Forms and Google Classroom with my students. I feel that I have learned about many tools that I can use in the future though!

2. Provided students with opportunities to use technology tools to differentiate and center their own learning

-- During my takeover I gave my students fraction games to help them practice their skills when they completed other assignments. I also gave some students LearnZillion preview lessons to do prior to my lessons to support their background knowledge. During my CLS summative assessment, I also gave my students support with technology. The students were given the option to silently read or use Google Read & Write to listen to the stories.

3. Became more alive and alert to the ways in which students are learning with tech tools

-- I was very fortunate to be in a class with one to one Chromebooks. The class gets to use the computers almost daily. I saw students playing educational games, using pre-writing resources, typing essays, and learning how to evaluate a internet source.

4. Used technology to communicate and collaborate with diverse audiences: students, colleagues, parents and education experts

-- I used email, LearnZillion assignments, and ParentSquare to communicate with parents. I used texting, email to communicate with my CT and cohort members (colleagues). I communicated with my students through Google Classroom.

5. Understood how technology choices impact pedagogy in the classroom and use this understanding to achieve the most effective outcomes

-- I am still working on understanding how technology impacts my teaching pedagogy.
